VoIP Phone Issues

- Follow the steps to help fix issues such as: No Dial Tone, Noisy Line, unable to make or receive calls, phone does not ring.
- 1. Check the phone you wish to use is connected to a green port on the router and powered on.Some phone models connect directly to the router, other models may require an adapter for connection.
- 2. Check all cables are connected correctly and securely.For more information see the Router Quick Setup guides.
- 3. Confirm there is no issue with the broadband service.For more information please see the Broadband Issues topics.
- 4. Reset the router using the pinhole reset button.For more information see the Factory Reset Router (reset button) topic.
- 5. If possible try a different phone to eliminated problems with the specific phone.Also you could try replacing the broadband filter (micro filter), the DSL cable and Ethernet cable.
- 6. For Full Fibre customers, restart the ONT.
- 7. If Non Full Fibre, plug the router into the test socket.For more information see the Broadband Issues (Non Full Fibre) topic.
- 8. Try plugging the phone directly into the test socket.For more information see the Broadband Issues (Non Full Fibre) topic.
- 9. For a noisy phone line. Try moving the phone and router further apart.This helps to reduce any interference from the Wi-Fi signal.
- 10. If Phone light on the router is off or the phone only works when connected to the test socket. Please contact an Origin Broadband representative.
